De eigenaar van Tenuta delle Terre Nere, Marco de Grazia, is een van de pioniers van de moderne wijncultuur op de vulkaan de Etna. Hoewel hij zelf niet van Sicilië, maar uit Florence komt, was hij een van de eersten om de potentie van dit bijzondere terroir en microklimaat te zien en de ingeslapen wijncultuur er nieuw leven in te blazen.
